okay, so I forgot to mention that I was going to be playing Insomnia Lounge last Friday.

but here's the good news... you can catch me this Friday October 14th, alongside Toronto funk master blaster DJ Splattermonkey! we'll be playing at the always enjoyable No One Writes to the Colonel at the NW corner of College and Bathurst St in Toronto!

so this Saturday August 27th I'll be heading to cottage country, to play Bayfield Ontario!

I'll be djing at the Black Dog all night playing a mix of funky beats and dope remixes of all sounds. its a great little bar on Main Street in Bayfield with a nice selection of beers on tap and I hear the food is quite awesome too.

then next Friday September 2nd I'm back in Toronto as I'll be playing the first official Funkin' It Up event at No One Writes to the Colonel. I'll be doing this one solo, and moving forward will be working with DJ Splattermonkey!

August Awesomeness w/ Myagi

A massive thank you to all who made it to one of the previous Breakers Revenge events at Tota Lounge so far. We've got one more event in the tank for the summer, and we're taking it to Grotto Lounge in Little Italy on Friday August 19th!

Myagi is one of Canada's most renowned producers and party rockers, with over 50 releases and remixes to his name and more mileage around the world playing the best clubs and crowds. This is a rare opportunity to see Myagi up close and personal in a "Big DJ, Small Club" intimate vibe with his patented sounds of big room breaks, electro, and all things dancefloor.

July Events

a couple of awesome events over the next few weeks, and the best part for you is that they are both FREE!

first off, Canada Day is next Friday and I'm excited to be dropping a mix of summertime funky beats on the patio of the Keating Channel Pub! Bounce throws awesome events there every year and this year will have San Francisco's DJ Mes as well as a slew of great Toronto house dj's. Its a great patio on a waterfront area and to be by water outdoors on Canada Day sounds just right to me. check here for all the details.

then on Saturday July 9th marks the Round 2 of Breakers Revenge.

I forgot to blog about the first event but it was a really good night out and this event looks to be a great follow up as we've got 6 dope dj's who play breaks but aren't afraid to step outside the boundaries into other genres and sounds in the progress. it's also a FREE event and goes down at the always fun Tota Lounge on Queen Street West at Bathurst.

Toronto this weekend, Cambridge Arts Fest in June

so a couple quick things to note... as mentioned in the previous post, I will be djing at Insomnia Lounge in Toronto this Friday May 20th. it will be an extended set of all things funky, hitting every tempo probably a few times over. get the details, mark your attendance.

also just a quick heads up of an interesting event a couple weeks out... on Saturday June 4th I'll be playing the Cambridge Arts Fest (http://www.cambridgeartsfestival.com), which is a free outdoor event in Cambridge Ontario, which happens to be my hometown.

I'm on from 3-4pm in the afternoon, playing a mix of summertime funky grooves.

come out and enjoy what seems like a pretty cool event and a good way to get out of the city for an afternoon!

Bassgators' Boxing Day Breakdown!

I'm especially stoked for Saturday November 20th here in Toronto.
this is one of the most original events I've been a part of in some time.
it's being thrown by the Bassgators in lieu of their 1 year anniversary, and we're talking a crazy original venue, Demolition Man from the UK (you may best remember him for his ragga jungle classic "Fire"), a crazy amount of great Toronto dj's, a fire show, dancing gypsies, body painting, and much more.

this Saturday marks my return to the Attic in Stratford!

last time the place was going off to the big room electro breaks sounds so I'll be returning with a stack of fresh dancefloor destroyers, along with a special guest! I'm excited to play again alongside Pop and Lock Records owner, the world recognized MYAGI!

also, big up to JLR for having me out as the guest dj for his hot monthly night in Toronto's Little Italy district, Get Shaky. This is a fun night where you can find dj's dropping some drop house, electro, breaks, and other quality dance music. Check it out every 3rd Saturday of each month!

So this weekend starts the beginning of 3 awesome events I'm right stoked for.

First up is this Saturday June 5th in Toronto at Lot 16 Bar on Queen Street West in Toronto.

Big Room Sounds - new mix for DL!

many of you have heard my last mix, It's a Nu-Funk Thang, which is 47 minutes of funky cuts to groove to. some of you have been lucky enough to already get one of my promo cd's that I've been handing out at gigs for the last month and a half or so. well the second half of that cd I've decided to finally release to the web!

this portion here is 33 minutes of some of my favourite big room breaks tunes I've been caning in the clubs, including one of my own tunes and re-rubs as well. expect big bass, electro sounds, and crisp breakbeats.

You faithful readers probably missed me last Wednesday as I threw down in Toronto's sweet Andy Poolhall. It was dope, and I suspect I will be back in the coming months so stay tuned.

Tonight (Friday April 30th) however, is an opportunity to flex my musical versatility while never compromising my integrity of only playing good music. I'm opening for Maestro Fresh Wes, who you may best remember for his classic anthems "Let Your Backbone Slide" and "Drop the Needle".
